I know! It's so hard to pick just one! My top list would include: Spirited Away (why else would I have made this guild? LOL) Princess Mononoke Laputa Howl's Moving Castle
All the others are so good too. They're right behind! Totoro has a special place in my heart too since it was the first Miyazaki film/anime I ever saw!

Totoro is just amazing though. I mean, for most people, that's the first thing they ever saw by Miyazaki... other times, it was Kiki's Delivery Service, Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle.
I can't believe people realized they were missing such amazing movies. Most people haven't jumped on the Miyazaki bandwagon until it's too late. *tear*

I know! A lot of parents in Japan rated Totoro as the top movie they want their children to see (a guild member told me that but I don't remember who . . .). It's such a great film though. It really does touch the heart! *o* I feel lucky that I discovered Miyazaki so early! I was still a kid (I think I was around the age of 9 or 10) and my love for him just grows with each new film I see. Everything he works on is truly a work of art!
I think the Miyazaki fever is spreading though! Disney buying the rights to all his films really made them more accessible (in America at least)! I mean now they show Miyazaki on Cartoon Network! I never expected that to happen! :0

I know. Miyazaki on Cartoon Network. Wow, is that like... crazy or what?
I discovered Miyazaki around the same age. But never really thought much of it at first because I was a foolish child that knew nothing of anime. Sad really...
But now its different. I'm now an anime/manga addicted with a dangerous habit. xD

The first Miyazaki movie I saw was Princess Mononoke, when we first got our DVD player. I think I was in grade 4 or 5, so I would have been about 11... I think. I didn't even know it was anime, forget realizing it was by Miyazaki. I first realized that the cartoons I loved when I was in, like, grade 2, (In other words, Pokemon and Digimon) were anime when Aya got me into Inuyasha in grade 7. The next one I saw was Spirited Away in Grade 5 or 6. I was at the daycare center I used to go to at my mom's work, before she got fired...

Yah. It took me a while to realize what exactly it was - and to realize that a lot of tv shows they've shown in the US for years were all considered anime!
Even then, I knew it was made in Japan, but I didn't realize there was so much of it, or that there were so many other obsessed fans out there! I'm really thankful for the internet. If it wasn't for searching for info on Miyazaki, Sailor Moon and other series, I never would have realized the vast world of anime (or become the crazed otaku I am today!^^). The web really helped fuel my interest, broaden my knowledge, and introduce me to many other fans. I'm not sure how I would have learned so much without a tool like the web!

Yes!!! Pom Poko! I love Pom Poko! It makes me really sad though - but also hopeful! If enough people start to learn and care about the environment, I believe one day we will make things better and learn to live in harmony with nature and wild life - instead of constantly destroying their homes! It affects us all too! The more we pollute and get rid of nature, the more unlivable our planet will become! We need trees - they give us oxygen! ^_^ Anyway, I'm on a tangent now! Someone said the movie Over the Hedge is sort of an American version of Pom Poko! Has anyone seen it? Would you agree/disagree?? Anyway, the ending theme song for PP is the song I've been getting stuck in my head lately! I'm obsessed!

This is the most difficult poll! There's no way I can choose just one. I love Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Kiki's Delivery Service, My Neighbor Totoro, and Naussicaa for different reasons. I'll just go ahead and vote for Spirited Away since it has 0 votes. XP

I'm glad Spirited Away has a vote now! Kinda sad considering that's the main focus of our guild! I understand though. Every one of his films are so great, it's difficult to choose just one! I could have easily created a guild about any one of his films (check out our sub pages if you don't believe me!^^), I just decided to make guild right after I first saw Spirited Away in theaters and that's when I went from being a Miyazaki fan to being totally obsessed!
Glad this is the way it worked out though! I think the theme of the Bath House is really original and very fun!! ^__^

I like them all! Have any of you seen Whisper of the Heart? I have the movie and it is really good. It relates to another movie I have of studio Ghibli called The Cat's Return.
